 Shalom Newsletter.

December 2010 Newsletter.

Pray For Africa.

When light pushes darkness, eventually another darkness comes. but when the darkness itself is transformed into light, it is a light no darkness can oppose.

In 1900 there were only 9 million bible believers in Africa, but by the year 2000 there was an estimated 380 million Bible believers in Africa. There has been a tremendous growth of new bible believers in Africa coupled by a relative decline in adherence to traditional African religions.

Most of the 552,000 bible believing congregations in 11,500 denominations throughout Africa are completely unknown to the western world. Much of the growth among new believers has been fueled by local African evangelism rather than western missionaries.

Facts about Africa.

  5. The Lemba Jews of Southern Africa.

  • Seychelles is the most literate African country with a literacy rate of 92%
  • Most people who teach themselves how to read and write use the Bible to learn to read.

Be a Candle.

When you use one candle to light another, the original candle remains bright. It's light is not diminished by being shared, on the contrary the two candles together enhance each others' brightness and increase light. When you give a spiritual gift, the recipient gains and you lose nothing.

Help the Zambia Messianic Fellowship to take the Good News of the Gospel to the lost in Africa.

Radio Outreach.

Our radio outreach goes to over 2 million listeners and we have been told by the representative of the national broadcaster that our Shalom Zambia radio program is the best on national radio.

We were approached by a privately owned radio station Sky FM inviting us at a very minimal fee ($40 per program) to broadcast our Shalom Zambia radio program on their station. Their station covers parts of Zimbabwe and Botswana. They even offered to help translate the contents into the dominate local languages spoken in the area of their broadcast.

Court Case.

Our court case has been adjourned to February 1st 2011. Continue praying for a favorable outcome. Our frontage to the Jerome Fleischer orphanage was blocked by a new lot created by the local city council. At first the owners of the lot encroached into parts of our property but have now withdrawn.

The Jerome Fleischer orphanage.

The issue at hand is now the frontage so that we can have access to the property. The courts gave us an injunction restraining the owners of the new lot from taking possession of their lot and from blocking our frontage.

 Congregations.

We have once gain reentered the Muslim dominated eastern Zambia and reopened another congregation Hosanna Assembly led by Simon Zulu. We lost our first congregation after Muslims bought off all the congregants by promising them food and money. Muslims in this area are known for buying bibles in bulk and then destroying the bibles.

Our Chinkuli congregation has continued to meet and worship without a roof. The rains have arrived and sometimes they get soaked as they worship. Please do pray for a roof over their heads. They have already built the building but lack $1000 to roof it.

Leadership Training.

Over 15 people are being trained in our leadership class. Pray for more workers to be sent out into the ripe harvest.
