INVADING THE CONTINENT WITH THE GOSPEL

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples, but the LORD will arise, and his glory will be seen upon you. Isa 60:2

You may ask, why is it so important that we spread the gospel in a way that people will understand, believe and change. A partial answer is found in mere numbers. According to the U.S. census bureau two hundred forty-nine people are born every minute and one hundred eight people die every minute.

Thus the worlds population grows by one hundred forty-one per minute. And many of those who die, will pass on without hearing the life giving word of salvation. They die without the hope of eternal life. If the tide seems to be against us, why then are we hopeful and continue the uphill battle of lighting the dark continent with the precious gospel? Here in Africa we are engaged in a pitched battle against such opponents as spiritualism, islam, poverty,  diseases, ignorance, licence, tribalism and many others. Yeshua (Jesus) has already won the war. The battle sometimes seem to be lost, but the war will be won with a resounding victory as he will be lifted up in all the land.

Thus will i magnify myself, and sanctify myself and i will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that i am the LORD.Eze 38:23

The African continent needs the light of the bible desperately.Of the fifty-three countries on the African continent twenty three have an Isamic majority of between fifty to one hundred percent, and twenty countries have a majority of Christians between forty-five to one hundred percent. Seven African counties have the majority of the population adhering to typical African religions. Of all the professed Christians across the continent, most are "nominal", who adhere to traditional African pagan beliefs or belong to syncretic sects like  kimbanguism, which fuses biblical and traditional elements.

Judaism has less than a single percentage presence. This explains why in some parts of the continent people don't even know what a Jew might be, and certainly have never met one.

  • Three babies were born in the congregation.
