Shalom Newsletter.

June 2011 Newsletter.

A word from Alex.

Greetings from the real Africa, the real Africa is the symbolic name for Zambia. Below are a few words on rewards.

Most rewards are received in the life to come and not in this life. In God's eyes all rewards are based on quality and not quantity. God's eye is always on the motive. No reward that is postponed will be forgotten. When that day dawns, no act of serving others, be it well known or unknown will be forgotten.

When we do the right thing, with the right motive but receive no credit, no acknowledgement, not even a thank you, we still have God's promise that we shall reap.

When we serve, give, sacrifice and step aside for God to receive the glory, Our heavenly Father promises that He will receive back.

So have a blessed day and go out and make a difference for God today!!

USA trip

I am back from my nine week American speaking tour and would like to thank all the Rabbis, Pastors, ministry leaders, lay leaders and many more who made the trip a success. Thank you for the prayers, the opportunity to speak, financial blessings and new friendships.

I would like to thank by name Jay, Chip, Maria and Debra among the many who worked extra hard to make my schedule work. I would also like to thank Congregation 268 in Idaho for sending gift packages to all the 151 orphans.

I would also like to welcome all the new people who asked to receive our newsletters. Thank you in advance for your prayers for us and for God's work in this dark, poor, diseased and lonely continent.

Congregations.

We closed our Findeco House congregation in downtown Lusaka and we are now meeting at our own property under a tent in Rockfield in Lusaka east. As finances went down, we were unable to meet the rentals at Findeco house.

God has however blessed us and the congregation is healthy and prospering.

We have a group led by a former congregant who has been going around trying to steal and discourage our members from attending our congregation. They broke away after they were reprimanded for introducing witchcraft rituals in a home bible study group.

Pray that all the efforts by this group to misrepresent the cause of truth and  their quest to fight and steal the Lord's sheep will come to nothing.

Birthdays.

Fay and two of my three daughters are celebrating birthdays this month. Eliana just turned 4 today and Gabriella will turn two on June 10. Fay will celebrate her birthday June 7th.

We thank God for these joyous reminders of His faithfulness and watchfulness.

Radio.

Our Shalom Zambia radio outreach is off air. We still have a contract with the National broadcaster ZNBC to air the outreach program. The radio outreach went to over 2.5 million people through out Zambia. Would you kindly consider sponsoring a single broadcast for $110 per week or 13 programs for $1430?

Below are some of the feedback we received when Shalom Zambia was still airing;

Dear Presenter/Rabbi Alex

I am a daily listener of Shalom Zambia. The program Shalom Zambia has helped my faith in God to grow.

Court case.

We were given another indefinite adjournment. The high court Judge presiding over our court case was promoted to the Zambian Supreme Court and we are yet to be given another Judge to look into our case.

The matter at hand is that we were sued for our land even though we have all the valid title and building approvals. The man suing us had threatened to kill and he went on to damage our frontage and uprooted some of the trees in front of the orphanage.

He was arrested and he dropped the cliam to our land. He is now claiming the frontage which will deny us access to our property. Kindly pray that no amount of corruption, abuse of authority will take away our frontage.

Orphanage.

We are still celelbrating the 85% pass rate at our orphanage school.

Thank you for making this a possibility.

We had inspectors from the Ministry of Finance who come to inspect our office, orphanage and projects. We have applied for tax exemption status (religious ministries in Zambia are regarded as businesses and are required to pay tax) pray that we will be granted the exemption so that we can even do more for the Kingdom.

Sponsor an Orphan project.

You can now sponsor an orphan for only $25 a month at the Jerome Fleischer orphanage school. Sponsoring an orphan will give you an opportunity to correspond with your sponsored orphan, to pray for him or her, help them try to recover their lost childhood and it will also give you the opportunity to encourage the child to do well in school.

Your sponsorship will allow us to give the children three meals a day as opposed to one meal a day, school supplies, medical care and housing when the orphanage building is completed. Step into the world of an orphan and be a life changer. All donations towards sponsoring an orphan should be given through Congregational Roeh Israel (see bottom of this newsletter).

We also have opportunities for one time giving at the end of the newsletter.

Welcome on board!

I am glad to introduce Debra Green from Denver, Colorado who has graciously offered to cordinate all Jerome Fleischer orphanage sponsorship Statewide. Debra and her husband Leon are very good friends of mine and have been to Zambia before. Debra and Leon have personally met the orphans. Debra's email address is zmforphange@gmail.com

I would also like to welcome Stevie who will help improve our website.

Kindly lift these warriors of the Lord as they help us advance the cause of truth.

Missions

Cy and Jill Wegman will be coming to Zambia later this month from Kentucky. They will be visiting Kenya before coming to Zambia.

Cy and Jill are a wonderful godly couple and they have been to Zambia before. They lead the Messianic Congregation Haztor in northern Kentucky. Pray for their safe travels, open doors, good health and God to give them the word for His people.

Prayer requests

  • Fay and i will be travelling to eastern Zambia (a moslem stronghold) on June 17th. According to the Campus crusade representative in Eastern Zambia, Muslims are known to be buying bibles in bulk and destroying them. We had planted a congregation which did not survive. We now have a full time worker who has been toiling and has planted another congregation named Emmanuel Temple. Pray for our safe drive and pray for Pastor Zulu who is in charge of the congregation in eastern  Zambia.

We now have reopened our Congregation in eastern Zambia.

PRAYER POINTS.

  • Open doors for the gospel.
  • Salvation of the Jewish community.
  • Leadership training.
  • protection for Fay and Alex
  • Spiritual and numerical growth.
  • Finances for ministry needs.
  • Completion of the orphanage.
  • Tax exempt status for our ministry.
  • Violence free Zambian national elections later this year.

NEEDS

  • $25 will feed one orphan for the whole month.
  • $6 will buy a bible for a new believer.
  • $10 will buy a mosquito net for one of our 151 orphans.
  • $60 will help Alex do outreach in the countryside where most of the congregations are based.
  • House of prayer- we have decided to build a building for prayer at the land housing the orphanage. There are no  houses of prayer in this growing neighborhood.
  •   $2000 to roof the Luwingu and Chinkuli Congregations.
  • $400 will buy a first aid kit for the orphanage school.
  • $500 will buy a science kit for the orphanage school.

 Shalom, Shalom.
