November 2008 Newsletter.
Shalom,
We pray and hope that our American friends had a wonderful thanksgiving.
It is a well known fact that when America and Europe sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold. Africa does not only catch the cold but chokes too. In more visible parts of the world due to the current financial crisis people are losing their jobs and value on their investments. In Africa the massive number of the poor, hungry and the rest of the vulnerable is swelling incredibly.
As believers events in the world affect us but do not dictate our obedience to our calling. It is during turbulent times, struggles, trails and temptations that faith has the opportunity to grow. Our work of saving the lost and building the Kingdom is more important now than ever.
Like many other ministries we have been affected but still G-d wants us to Save people in desperate need by both meeting their physical needs and sharing the Gospel with them. We feel that it is our moment! At the Zambia Messianic Fellowship we value your prayers and contributions . Whatever happens in this world, the Gospel still must reach all peoples and Israel must receive her Messiah before the end comes. So we continue, arm in arm with you, to finish the race, to carry out our Saviour's mission - for which He gave His life. May God preserve you and your family in these tumultuous times until our work on earth is finished.

Thank you for the prayers over Zambia, we now have a new president and the elections were held without violence. The new president is Rupiah Banda.
Keep praying for Zimbabwe. There is a cholera outbreak and hundreds have died and thousands more are sick. The Zimbabwean government has no money to treat the water and inflation stands at more than 230 million percent, 4.9 million Zimbabweans depend on food aid from outside. Many still have left the country. School attendance is at 20% and a teacher's monthly wage hardly covers a day's average transport cost. We have many wonderful believers in Zimbabwe who have been badly affected. Your prayers are much coveted.
THE MINISTRY
In November our ministry celebrated 8 years of our official existence. We started meeting in 1997 and were officially registered in 2000. In these short years we have seen G-d's faithfulness, provision, protection and guidance. We do not take lightly those ( both within and outside our ministry ) whom God has brought across our path and who have helped us to make all this into a reality. In our short existence we have been physically attacked and verbally abused but God has kept us alive. We have lost congregations and buildings to violent animists and false brethren. We have been dumped. We have lost loved ones. We have been banned from venturing into certain areas and called Satanists yet we have seen thousands make a profession of faith in Messiah. We have fed tens of thousands of starving villagers and shared the gospel with them. We have taken in hundreds of orphans and clothed, fed and taught them. We have seen a mosque and Muslims convert and witches surrender their lives to Messiah. We have been attacked by voodoo and other supernatural means common in Africa. We have given for free thousands of Bibles to pastors and believers who can't afford to purchase one for themselves.
We have seen restoration, productivity and hope return to thousands in this land known for hopelessness. We have helped many to cease from being beggars and to becoming productive. We have stood with likeminded ministries and encouraged and supported them in their different ministries and callings. We have planted congregations in different parts of the country and trained leaders.
Every week we are in over 2.5 million homes on radio sharing the good news of our Messiah, through our Shalom Zambia Broadcast on ZNBC's RADIO 4.
Yet we are a small ministry that continually struggles to stand on her feet. In taking care of the Lord's business He has been taking care of ours. With Him we form the majority and can proudly declare;
Php 4:13 I can do all things through Him who gives me power.
Thank you to all of you who have stood with us financially and in prayer. Though we are not together in body, we are certainly together in spirit. In light of that we are also praying for you as each day comes by, as your days so shall your strength be. Surely G-d shall perfect that which concerns you [Psalms 138:8].
You are God sent!!!
NEW BABIES
We have new arrivals in our main congregation. Four babies were born in the last few months Hallelujah.
BRANCHES
We are rebuilding the congregation which was destroyed by a whirlwind. For now the believers are meeting in the open for their weekly services.
ORPHANAGE
We want to thank the Lord for helping us meet all our orphanage obligations. The orphans never missed a meal, had all their school supplies provided and their teachers were all paid on time. We still thank our heavenly father in advance for chairs and desks for the orphans.
Help us continue to reach the lost through the weekly Shalom Zambia radio program. We will be conducting a leadership training this month.
We are still looking for more sponsors to help build the Jerome Fleischer Orphanage. The perimeter wall has been completed. Thousands of orphaned children live on the streets in Zambia. There are over 30 million orphans in sub-Sahara Africa. True and pure religion involves taking care of orphans and widows (James 1:27). G-d has brought 123 orphans under our care and our prayer is to house them too. Apart from giving them school and food we plan to give them a roof over their heads. Kindly pray how you can partner with us to make this a reality. We plan to build in four phases and each phase will cost $50,000.
