Welcome to the Jerome Fleischer Orphanage

The religious observance that God the father considers pure and faultless is this; to care for orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being contaminated by the world.

Fay Yalenga began to reach out to orphans in 2003. Herself an orphan having lost her father at 13 yrs of age, wanted to start a very small outreach to some orphans. Her aim was to feed and teach a small number of orphans. Seeing the hopelessness in which many orphans find themselves in, she wanted to try and do something at least.

Fay felt the worst thing in life was to do nothing when things are desperate. The ages of the orphans at the Jerome Fleischer orphanage School are 2-14.

$15 can feed one orphan one meal a day for a month.

The Jerome Fleischer School for orphans is situated along Commonwealth road in Matero Lusaka. It has 137 children.

The Children are taught about the Lord who inspired us to reach out to them (orphans), care for them and give them meals for free. They are encouraged to develop a walk with the Lord. Almost all of them do. It is compulsory to read scripture and pray and worship at the orphanage.

It is a place where orphans find hope, transformation, growth, food, school, love and a biblical education. It is a place where young lives affected by tragedy and disease find wholeness and comfort. It a place where the abandoned find love and acceptance. The school used to meet in an old garage in George compound  before moving on to the new location. The School is non profit and all services rendered to the children are free.

Unlike other orphanages in the country, The Jerome Fliescher School strives to be self supporting by entering into income generating ventures. Right now we have three Mini buses which helps pay for the orphanage rent and wages for our trained teachers.

Pray about helping the orphanage school be self supporting by getting the school  a

set up a grocery store $5,000

 Grinding Mill (Hammer Mill) ($7,000)

Two more Mini Buses ($12,000 each)

Volunteers are welcome!!
